Yes! It's only a 2 part figure, the helmet and the body.

What is it made out of?

The rider is premium quality plastic, the helmet is metal alloy.

Does the rider actually fit in the helmet?

Yes! Simply bend the legs and it fits perfectly with the helmet closed.
